The syncronization tool you need for older Windows systems

ActiveSync is a synchronization app developed by Microsoft as a way to synchronize data between mobile and desktop devices. Originally released on September 10, 1996, ActiveSync is compatible with Windows XP or earlier systems. It can be used to sync emails, contacts, and calendar notes automatically. It can also be used to transfer and backup files manually. Unfortunately, ActiveSync has been replaced by the Windows Mobile Device Center since the release of Windows Vista. That said, if you happen to still have a Windows XP or earlier system, ActiveSync is still a tool worth having around to make syncing easier.

PROS

  • Simple to use
  • Can sync emails and contacts
  • Supports older systems

CONS

  • Limited mobile device support
  • Not available for Windows Vista or later
  • Outdated
